Our Mission

CalFootball.com is built on the principles of respect, inclusivity, and meaningful connection among Cal football fans. These Community Rules are designed to maintain a safe, welcoming environment where everyone can engage in constructive dialogue and share their perspectives.

1. Be Respectful

We have zero tolerance for content that promotes hate or discrimination.

• No content targeting race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
• No promotion of hate groups or extremist ideologies
• No symbols, images, or language associated with hate movements

3. No Harassment or Bullying

Creating a safe environment means protecting users from harassment.

• No stalking, doxxing, or sharing private information
• No repeated unwanted contact or communication
• No coordinated harassment campaigns
• No threats of violence or harm

4. Keep It Legal

Do not use the Service for illegal activities.

• No promotion of illegal drugs or substances
• No sharing of illegal content (pirated media, hacking tools, etc.)
• No facilitation of illegal transactions
• No content that violates intellectual property rights

5. No Spam or Manipulation

Authentic engagement is important to our community.

• No excessive self-promotion or advertising
• No fake accounts or impersonation
• No vote manipulation or artificial engagement
• No misleading links or phishing attempts

6. Protect Privacy

Respect the privacy of others and protect personal information.

• Don't share others' private information without consent
• No doxxing or revealing personal details
• Be mindful of what personal information you share
• Report privacy violations to moderators

7. No Adult or Explicit Content

Keep the platform safe for all ages.

• No pornography or sexually explicit content
• No graphic violence or gore
• Tag potentially sensitive content appropriately
• Consider the diverse audience when posting

8. Misinformation and Disinformation

Help maintain the integrity of information on the platform.

• Don't deliberately spread false information
• Fact-check before sharing news or claims
• Correct mistakes when pointed out
• Be transparent about sources and affiliations

9. Intellectual Property

Respect the creative work of others.

• Don't post content you don't have rights to use
• Give credit to original creators
• Respect copyright and trademark laws
• Report copyright violations

10. Self-Harm and Dangerous Activities

We care about user safety and wellbeing.

• No content promoting self-harm or suicide
• No encouragement of dangerous challenges or activities
• Report concerning content to moderators
• Resources for mental health support will be provided when needed

Enforcement

Violations of these rules may result in:

• Warning: First-time minor violations
• Content Removal: Offending posts or comments deleted
• Temporary Suspension: Account access restricted for a period
• Permanent Ban: Severe or repeated violations
• Legal Action: Illegal content reported to authorities

Reporting Violations

If you see content or behavior that violates these rules:

• Use the report button on posts or comments
• Contact moderators through the Contact form
• Provide specific details about the violation
• Don't engage with rule-breaking content

Appeals Process

If you believe your content was removed or account suspended in error:

• Contact us through the Contact form
• Explain why you believe the action was incorrect
• Provide relevant context or evidence
• Appeals will be reviewed within 7 business days

Moderator Discretion

Moderators have discretion to enforce these rules based on context and intent. Not every situation can be covered by explicit rules, and moderators will use their best judgment to maintain a healthy community environment.

Updates to Rules

These Community Rules may be updated periodically to address new challenges and improve the community. Material changes will be announced to users, and the "Last Updated" date will reflect modifications.
